'Invisible' Anti Slip Treatment for tiled Surfaces

We can supply and/or apply a new 'invisible' anti slip treatment which washes onto tiled surfaces and improves the friction of the tiles to improve 'grip'.

The following information will provide you with an initial introduction to P.G.E-AST
“anti-slip” treatment which can be applied to a variety of surfaces greatly reducing the risk and danger of slips and falls when wet. The increased coefficient of friction produced when surfaces are treated with AST is a proven safety solution for owners of residential, commercial and industrial properties and facilities. The slip resistance of wet or moist surfaces are immediately improved when treated with AST.

AST solution can be applied to the majority of hard porous surfaces such as concrete, ceramic tile, terrazzo and terrazzo tiles, quarry tiles, marble, stone and enamel baths/shower trays.

The application of the treatment is quick and easy and does not require expensive equipment:
Three basic steps is all it takes:-1. Thoroughly clean & rinse the surface. Pour on the AST solution.2. Spread the AST liberally and evenly using a mop or sponge and allow to stand for approximately 10 to 12 minutes.3. Rinse off with clean water, the area is now ready for immediate use.

Please note: Some surfaces may require a second application to bring the slip resistance to the desired level.

Once the treatment is complete keep the surface clean using good housekeeping procedures, normal cleaning agents will not affect the performance of the product but do not apply wax based polishes or sealants.

Once treated with AST areas such as showers and baths etc. will have an effective slip resistance for up to 3 years; areas subjected to regular traffic will usually require re-treatment after 2 years.

Typical applications of AST include areas within Sports Stadiums; Leisure Complex’s; Hotels; Swimming Pools; Schools & Colleges; Retail Outlets such as Supermarkets & D I Y stores; Public Buildings and generally anywhere a wet surface produces a serious risk of slipping.

IDEAL FOR AROUND SWIMMING POOL AREAS

GENERAL INFORMATION - FLOORS

1) AST is designed to improve the slip resistance of hard porous surfaces that become slippery when moist or wet. The product is ideally suited for application to Ceramic, Marble, Terracotta and Terrazzo tiles; traditional Terrazzo floors, granite, stone, concrete and similar types of materials.

2) AST SHOULD NOT be applied to plastic, wood, acrylic, epoxy, polyurethane, vinyl, linoleum, glass and similar types of products.

3) If in doubt please consult the company for advice before applying the product.

4) In all cases a small test area of AST should be applied to establish the length of time required to produce the desired level of slip resistance.

5) Generally most surfaces will reach a satisfactory level of slip resistance with one application of AST after an exposure period of between 8 and 12 minutes. Very hard and dense materials may require additional applications.

6) IMPORTANT: In all cases do not allow the AST product to dry out on the surface being treated.

7) APPLICATION:
A: Thoroughly clean & rinse the surface to be treated and dry off all surface water. The surface to receive the treatment should preferably be dry but may be a little damp. However, the surface must be free of standing water.
B: Spread the AST liberally and evenly using a brush mop or sponge and allow to stand for the selected period of time. Agitate periodically during the activation period.
C: At the end of the treatment period rinse off with clean water, the area is now ready for immediate use.

8) PACKAGING & COVERAGE:
AST is supplied in Two container sizes, 1 litre, and 5 litre jugs. The containers are fitted with screw caps to facilitate good storage conditions for unused product.
Consumption will be determined by the type of surface being treated and the number of applications required. Generally 1 litre of AST will be required to treat between 10 m² & 15 m² of floor surface.

9) HEALTH & SAFETY:
At all times applicators should wear appropriate safety clothing and maintain good standards of hygiene.
Please consult the Material Safety Data Sheet for detailed advice on handling this product
