How much will it cost to legalise my pool? This depends very much on the size of the pool and the style of security you require, as examples, a standard rectangular 8mx 4m pool. fitted and without tax 21% approximately. a) Stretch Net approx €1200-1600 b) Aluminium or steel made to measure Fencing from €185 per metre c) Framed(eg Aluminium or vinyl) glass fencing from €185 per metre d) Steel Inox Framed /framless glass from €250 per metre plus €750 per gate e)Motorised Roller covers 'in poo'l from €10-12.000 if retro fitted f) Poolguard approx €100 per metre plus €450 per gate g) Mild steel from €240 per metre h) Steel and glass from €250 per metre plus €650 per gate Prices above do not include IVA @21%	^^ TOP	What is the safest system? Worldwide, we have to say that fencing is the best solution. If the gate mechanism is self locking and childproof, and there is no way that a child can access the pool , climb over or under the fence, then this is the best system. Followed by automatic roller systems with adequate locking systems. Alarms have been proven to be insufficient and subject to false alarm and failures, nets and covers have to be fitted properly after every swim. Automatic cover systems have to have a system where water cannot 'pool' on the top if it rains, and are often visually ugly.
Which is the best system for me? This absolutely depends on your budget and style requirements. We will be happy to advise you on this.	^^ TOP	I have an oddly shaped pool, what do I do? Then a fence may be the only solution.
What is the cheapest legal system? At present we do not know if netting will be accepted as a legal system here, it is in Spain, but they have not issued the ruling yet. Aluminium fencing is currently the cheapest option that will be legal.	^^ TOP	I have a pool on two levels..now what? Again, fencing should cover this problem
How do I pay for a system? 50% on order, 50% on final fitting.	^^ TOP	I have a pond, do I need to secure this? Not at present under current laws, but if you have small children, then it would be a good idea to cover this with a special pond net. For a large pond, then a pool net would be used as it is more sturdy.
What is the delivery time? Depending on the system chosen, from 4-6 weeks usually, except August when the factories close. Each system is ordered to measure at present, although we hope to be able to carry stock in the near future.	^^ TOP	Do I have to have this if I only rent occasionally? Any rental property has to have this, or you may be liable if there is an accident.
What is the cost of fitting? This is included in the quote that you will be given once the system is chosen and we see what problems we may have in fitting.	^^ TOP	Do I need this on a private house? Not at present, but it will probably come into law in the future.. as in Australia and France, first the rental properties, then the private houses. Even if you don't rent, you may still have children visiting, so it is a good idea for everyone.
When do I have to have this in by? This again depends on when the regulation is issued, published and put into 'law' by the local councils. We expect this to be in force by April 2009	^^ TOP	How long will it take to fit? Nets take about a day to fit with two men, fences and covers vary as to the complexity of the job. On a 'straight' pool, about 2-3 days.
What guarantees do you offer? We offer the guarantees on materials and finishings as per the various types of systems and their manufacturers. In Portugal there is a standard two year guarantee on all commercial products, in terms of quality and materials. We can never guarantee 100% safety, as the use of the product chosen will vary for each user. When fitted you will be given instructions as to how to use the system you choose.	^^ TOP	Do I need to secure a childs pool? If it is separate to the main pool, and outside a fenced area, then yes.
